I was born and raised in Seattle, though I received my PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of North Dakota. I was happy to come home for my doctoral internship at the University of Washington’s counseling center. Though I work with clients of all ages and identities, some of my areas of expertise tend to affect women more frequently, such as sexual trauma and eating disorders. Whoever my client is, common themes in my work include: personal values, assertiveness and boundary-setting, and finding humor and meaning in all spheres of our lives. The types of therapy I use most often are Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Eye Movement Reprocessing and Desensitization Therapy (EMDR) for trauma. Outside of the office, I love taking advantage of nature in the PNW by hiking, skiing, and being on, in, or near water. When the weather is bad (…and even when it’s good), I’m most often found reading.
